Tier II Web Infrastructure Upgrade

If your content is on the Tier I environment (CommonSpot), this upgrade will not affect your site. This upgrade is only for web content on the Tier II environment.

On Tuesday, April 2nd, computers on the OHSU network will begin using the upgraded Tier II web hardware for 'www.ohsu.edu' and 'ozone.ohsu.edu'. External visitors to these sites will continue to use the existing, original hardware.

A follow up DNS change on April 13th will be implemented to allow external visitors to the OHSU site to use the new hardware as well.

You can test your site on the upgraded Tier II environment at one of the following URLs:

Please contact Damon Gentry (x4-2601) if you have any questions.

Damon, you mean *Thurs* April 2, right? And does this also mean that weblabs blogs will then be on Tier 2?

Yes. It will happen on THURS, April 2nd. Thanks for catching the typo!

As for the blogs, they will not be moved from weblabs to the new Tier II (yet). We still have to update external DNS on April 13th, and then we still have to install software, move database content, etc.

It shouldn't been too long now, though.

Cool. But it sounds like, as of Thursday, it might be safe to parse an RSS feed via CF directly on the O-Zone home page--yes?

Bill, we had to postpone the launch. (See post dated 4/3/2009). So, RSS parsing isn't quite available. Sorry!
